What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a globally practiced system of natural healthcare, with a tradition of healing that spans more than 200 years. At its core, homeopathy recognizes that every person is different. Treatment is tailored to the individual — with the goal of awakening and supporting the body's innate capacity to heal. Rather than simply addressing surface-level symptoms, a homeopath carefully considers the whole person and selects the remedies that best resonate with their unique symptom picture and overall energetic picture.

How Does It Work?

Homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances and prepared through a precise, intentional process rooted in a simple but profound principle: a substance capable of producing certain symptoms in a healthy person can, when prepared homeopathically, help resolve those same symptoms in someone who is unwell. This is the Law of Similars — "like cures like" — a concept Hippocrates observed long before homeopathy emerged as a formal system of medicine.

Preparation of remedies involves progressive dilution combined with vigorous agitation, known as succussion. Modern research in quantum physics offers a compelling framework for understanding why remedies are effective at extreme dilutions: water appears to retain an energetic impression of substances it has encountered. This phenomenon — often called "water memory" — suggests that it is the energetic signature of the original substance, rather than its physical presence, that engages with the body's own energy system to promote healing.

Remedies can be drawn from virtually any plant, mineral, or animal source. Though the dilutions are extreme, the results can be remarkably powerful when a remedy is well-matched to a patient — and because little to none of the original substance remains, they are also exceptionally safe. Remedies are generally administered in a pill or liquid form.

Homeopathy was formalized in the early nineteenth century by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician and chemist. By 1900, roughly one in five American doctors practiced it. Political and social forces eventually pushed homeopathy to the margins in the United States, but there has been a significant resurgence over the past thirty years. Homeopathy has long held a stronger presence elsewhere — it is widely practiced across France, Germany, Mexico, Argentina, India, and Great Britain, where it has been a fundamental part of the Royal Family's medical care.

Today, the World Health Organization recognizes homeopathy as the second most widely used system of medicine in the world. For those seeking a gentler, more individualized path to wellness, it offers something increasingly rare in modern healthcare: a time-tested approach that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.

About Me

Hi, I'm Rachel. My journey into the healing arts began long before the farm. My love of nature and academic background in ecology and evolution have always shaped how I understand complex, living systems.

After years as a regenerative farmer and hospitality manager at Claverach, I found my way into homeopathy, a practice that feels like a natural extension of everything I've studied.

Homeopathy encompasses the full spectrum of nature — plants, animals, minerals, and even imponderables such as astrological influences, solar flares, and EMFs.

Homeopathy has been transformative in my own life — both in supporting my children through complex health challenges and navigating acute illness within my family.

My commitment to this work was profoundly deepened this past winter when homeopathy played a critical role in my recovery from a brain aneurysm.

At the heart of my practice is a deep belief in your ability to heal — and a commitment to guiding you there.

All consultations are done virtually via Zoom. Your initial consultation is two hours, giving us plenty of time to explore your health history in depth. Following your appointment, I'll send you a detailed recommendations summary and arrange for homeopathic remedies to be delivered directly to your door.

To track your progress and fine-tune your remedy plan, I recommend at least six hour-long follow-up appointments, scheduled at four-to-eight week intervals.
